This is...The burger and fries were McDonald's.

This is how I want to start, as everyone may not read the entire review. I never write reviews, but this place was such an incredible rip off, I must share my tale of horror with all of you.

Strike #1- I got a GC from http://restaurant.com which after seated THEY DID NOT HONOR. So why advertise, take my money for the GC and then not honor it? The waitress was quite rude about it too saying "Yeah, we don't take these anymore, if you have a problem call http://restaurant.com". No apology, no nothing. I figured we were already there, so how bad could it be? Little did we know....

Strike #2- My meal, the fish, was disgusting. It was half a filet, boiled (the waitress said it was fried) with about half a cup of rice and a ridiculous amount of lettuce used to fill the plate. I found three (THREE!) fish bones in my pathetic excuse for a fish.

Strike #3. My husband ordered the burger. When he got it it had that unmistakable smell and look. I tasted a fry. Now, as a red blooded American i know DAMN WELL what a McD's fry taste like. This was from McDonald's. We then inspected the burger. Perfectly round, not fresh, and that unmistakable sesame seed bun. A few pieces of Arugula could not deter us from the obvious- this was a dressed up Quarter Pounder. I am not alleging that they went and BOUGHT IT from McD's, but that they are serving McD's food.

All in all, the worst place I have eaten in all the beach. Ever. Cheap, dishonorable service and pathetic food. If it was the last place to ever get sustenance in the WORLD I would rather starve to death than visit this Ponzi scheme masquerading as a restaurant.
DO NOT GO. If you like McD's there is one on Lincoln.Flaviahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06361763359437328219noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4393395018419235591.post-64931850594143759262011-03-31T06:53:47.791-07:002011-03-31T06:53:47.791-07:00Sounds like an interesting restaurant, I wonder if...Sounds like an interesting restaurant, I wonder if it has anything to do with my local Prezzo London? Sometimes it must be done. :) And, it looked great for the picture. You can always try the homemade pasta in the future when you come across some guar gum. (I had to order mine online, and I barely got it in time.)

I was surprised about the pasta dish too. I can't stand olives, and gobbled it up.

Good to know you have something to bake when needed. I was surprised at how easy the brownies were.

Good luck to you.

TiaAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4393395018419235591.post-62451088201418769462010-08-15T09:33:45.603-07:002010-08-15T09:33:45.603-07:00I frequently read your blog and I agree wiyh you a...I frequently read your blog and I agree wiyh you and your reviews; however, this time I must disagree. I had lunch and dinner several times at Baires Grill. I had the grilled Milanese you have reviewed so many times that I can't remember and that's how argentineans make it: fried and dry. As a frequent Baires Grill customer, I feel that this time, your review is wrong just because you may don't know how this dish is prepared (BTW the "Milanesa" in all its variants is more popular whitin argentineans than the "parrillada" itself).
I am happy to read that the rest of your meal was ok though.
BTW, Baires Grill is located by the Regal cinema theaters, not the Colony theater.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08441131100146074737noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4393395018419235591.post-87760180815440246392010-05-08T17:05:10.696-07:002010-05-08T17:05:10.696-07:00I love that place... before I moved to NC I went 2...I love that place... before I moved to NC I went 2 Sundays a month for late lunch. GR did the two fish specials which was very reasonable at $16 and $18. That trio of duck with bleberries looked awful and it was like $34.00! Someone at at a nearby table ordered it, GR does look exactly like he does on tv. I expected him to be more animated though. No yelling, no anger at all. He actually looked really depressed. I get the feeling he saw this one as a hopeless mess. It was so small in there too! I've seen all the KN shows on Fox and BBC. This was a challenge compared to most of the others. Can't wait to see what the kitchen was like. I knew enough not to eat their regular menu food so I won't be too freaked out if the kitchen turns out to be as disgusting as I think it was. I know he is a miracle worker but my overall impression wasn't good. I have little hope for them.KN fanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02615437722538152488noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4393395018419235591.post-44278630221647272522008-06-07T12:08:00.000-07:002008-06-07T12:08:00.000-07:00UPDATE: Since the post, we have gone back for the...UPDATE: Since the post, we have gone back for the black bean chicken and steamed chicken dumplings. The black bean chicken was pretty great--a touch salty, but really good nonetheless. The steamed chicken dumplings were just so-so.Cochrancjhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07497329002419846758noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4393395018419235591.post-5737788343159502242008-05-25T08:48:00.000-07:002008-05-25T08:48:00.000-07:00UPDATE: It's not solely that I've been a slack-as...UPDATE: It's not solely that I've been a slack-ass as of late, but that we've been back here every weekend since MiMo. This place is just freakin great. The Macho Taco is daunting (huge!), but the steak in it is amazing, the fish tacos are good (merely good), the rolled tacos are great, and the standby pork soft tacos are still our favorite. And, the Mr. Pibb tastes different every time we go... something in the mix is off every time; never tastes like the Mr. Pibb out of a bottle, but is always miles better than the regular stuff. Yesterday was a heavy cherry mix; last Sunday, it was hints of root beer...Cochrancjhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07497329002419846758noreply@blogger.com
